IT"S BEEN AWHILE

Well to update you, Zoey had her birthday party on December 6th. She had SO much fun now she goes around the house all day singing "Happy Birfday to me to me" and then she says "pesents momma?" yes I trained her very well thinking that EVERYDAY is her birthday. I am still trying to convince myself that I actually do have a 2 year old.

This is a picture from my parents house they weren't able to come to her party on Saturday. Because my dad was flying out to Flordia so we had our own little party. And of course I don't have my pictures right now to upload of her friend party but for her birthday we got her a Barbie Jeep and she thinks that its just the coolest thing EVER. So I promise I will upload all the pictures later when I have my SD card.

We were suppose to go get our family pictures done on the 13th but I had a cold sore the size of Texas so I had to call and cancel in the meantime I had my mom take some pictures at her house for our Christmas cards and they turned out so cute that I decided not to have our pictures professionally done for a little while longer until Slade is a little bit older we did Zoey's at target when she was 6 months old and that was a perfect age!

As you can see in the pictures Slade is starting to chunk up and he is looking more and more like my brother Bretts baby pictures I will have to post both of them together it is so funny to see how much they look alike.
And Zoey she is turning into quite the young lady oh wait maybe I should say "DIVA" she totally controls our household. She has defenitly reached the terrible 2's, she defeniitly doesn't like to be told no. And she is in love with her little brother sometimes she tells me " No momma my baby" I have to watch her close because she gets a little rough she likes to hold baby broth (thats what she calls him)

Better late than never

Girls weekend!!!

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE GUYS BABYSIT

YES THEY'RE ON THE ROOF

This past weekend the girls in my family were suppose to go to the Celine Dion concert. That was our Christmas present LAST year. SO we all were SO stoked to go then 3 days before she was to come she had to re schedule her concert. We all were so bummed but we didn't let that stop us from having OUR girls weekend.

The guys had the girls Friday night while my mom, my sister in laws Beth and Annika and I went to the movie, we went and saw Mamma Mia. To start off the night I wanted to print off a map to get to the theatre because we really weren't familiar with were it was. But my brother Tyler being who he is. Told us exactly where is was at YEAH RIGHT!!! We had to stop and get directions and he had us going in the whole other direction! So we were a little late to Mamma Mia but that is okay my mom and I had seen it before and loved it so much that we had to take the other girls to it.
So while we are at the movies the whole time we are getting texts from the guys at hom "are you done yet" They decided that they all wanted to go to the comedy club and felt that they desereved it since they got ALL the kids to bed.

On Saturday it was our craft day. We had about 8 viynl signs that we had to paint and put together it was so much fun sitting there talking and doing our signs. The guys took the kids to the Weber footbal game. Later that night we went to Savior of the World at the conference center. We all went together and left the girls with Beth's sister and we took Slade. It was so much fun going even though Slade did not want to sleep and when he did I had to take him out in the foyer because he was snoring to loud. HAHA

ROUGH HOUSING

IT was such a great weekend I had such a blast and it was a well needed break. Don't get me wrong I LOVE being with my kids but I do need a break every now and then. And this was such a great idea for all of us to get together and spend some time together. All of us don't get to be together for Thanksgiving so we thought this would be a good way to get everyone together.

HELP!!!

Okay so I am at my last resort I am in need of some help. I don't know what to do with my little girl. Ever since Slade was born she wakes up 3-4 times a night. At first I thought it was her teeth but her teeth came through and she was still getting up all the time. Its so sad she wakes up more than Slade does. She isn't horrible when she wakes up Brigham just goes and lays with her in her bed until she falls asleep. I honestly have tried EVERYTHING i tried putting up a gate and just letting her cry, I tried feeding her thinking she may be hungry, I have NO idea what to do maybe its just a stage who knows. But the thing that gets me is that she was doing so well in her big girl bed before we had Slade and know she has had a little set back so I'm in need of some suggestions!!!

Well on to a much lighter note Slade is getting so big he smiles and laughs all the time. I have so many pictures to add I just don't have time to upload them right now but I promise they are coming.

UPDATE

This is a well needed update, we have been so busy lately we are updating our house with can lights, new doors, etc.. So needless to say we have been EXTRA busy.

Slade is doing so well we took him to his 2 month check up on the 14th and he weighs almost 13 pounds and is WAY off the chart in height. He is going to be our basketball player hehe. He is starting to laugh and talk. Zoey was the first one to get him to laugh it was so cute. She just loves her little brother so much (too much at times)

Zoey is becoming such a big girl, her vocabulary is just booming she learns at least one new word a day. The latest word is "Damn it" I could not tell you where she got that hahah. No the true story there is she was getting into the DVD's and they were EVERYWHERE so I come in the living room and say" Damn it Zoey I am sick of telling you no" so that is where "damn it came from. I guess we better stop swearing around our house. That's all I need is her to go to nursery and drop a toy and say damn it which she does at home. Anyways she is starting to use the potty when she wants too but I'm not really pushing it at this point she did everything else on her own I guess she will let me know when she is ready. Who knows with her stubbornness we may be going to kindergarten in diapers.

Now onto my hubby I have to gloat for a few minutes, I think I have the best hubby he is so amazing. Two months ago at church we had a lesson that was givin based around how the prophets say that we should avoid debt as much as possible. Well I really took this lesson to heart and we have been trying to get out of debt. We aren't horribly in debt just 2 credit cards and of course a home and cars. Well I told Brigham I would really like to eliminate those 2 credit cards and just starting paying triple on them even if it meant a little less money for our activites. With Brighams job he works 7 days and then has 7 days off. Well Brigham took it upon himself to get a 2nd job on those days off. I didn't ask him too or anything like that. He just said I feel that we defenitly should eliminate these 2 cards. It makes such a differece when you live by what the prophets and the Lord has commanded. We have tried living both ways and it is such a difference like night and day when we live by the gospel. I just honestly don't know how we did it when we first got married. I am just grateful that we are living by the gospel now and that I have such a great husband who will do anything for his family. I know that I am truly blessed!

Slade's Blessing

We had such a great weekend all of my brothers and sister in laws came out to share Slade's blessing with us.

On Saturday we took the girls to the park as well as the rec. center to go swimming. They all had such a good time playing together. Then that afternoon we went up to Remember the Maine to have a dutch oven dinner and OH MAN was it good!!

I love when my family comes out we don't all get together that often so when we do it is such a fun time we all just hang out and be crazy.

We also had a HUGE scare this weekend my sister in law Evelyn was getting horrible headaches and couldn't really move her neck. Well she went to the Emergency Room, come to find out she had viral menengitis. The menengitis got into her brain as well as her heart. Her heart rate would'nt come about 40 and sometimes would drop as low as 30. The hospital ended up making the dicision to send her to Provo to a heart specilist. While in Provo the doctor told Evelyn if her heart rate continued to drop she would have to get a pace maker inserted into her heart. I'm happy to report Evelyn came home yesterday but she isn't out of the water yet. She has to continue to moniter her heart and hopefully it doesn't drop low again.

Oh the biggest news of all NO MORE BINKIE!!! Zoey decided 3 days ago that her binkies are "KA-KA" she has got to the point where she tears holes in her bink and I refuse to buy her new ones so she had 1 bink left and of course this bink got a hole. So Zoey brought the bink to me and said " Momma bink ka-ka" so I told her to throw it away and thank heavens she decided that she didn't like them anymore. I have been so lucky with her I have never had to wing her from anything, she has always decided on her own that she is ready like for instance the bottle one day she decided she didn't like them anymore so we switched to sippy cups. Also with her crib she decided she was ready for a big girl bed. I am truly blessed with her, she is such a good girl!!

I need to also update everyone on baby Slade, he is getting so big! Not chunky but just long. His 0-3 month clothing is high waters on him but fit his belly perfectly. So I went to 3-6 month clothes and its huge around the belly but fits perfect in length. I guess we have a basketball player on our hands (hehe).

Baby Slade

We went on the 18th when Slade was 7 days old to Tiffany Morton's house so she could take some pictures of Slade. They turned out so cute!! Tiffany is so amazing at taking pictures she captures the best poses. I am so in love with these pictures I wish that I would have done something like this when Zoey was born.

Slade is growing so fast he went to his 2 week check up on Monday and weighed 8 lbs 9oz and was 22 in long. They had to re-measure his height she just couldn't believe he grew that much. I guess that goes to show us that he's going to be tall like his daddy. Zoey is still doing great with him other than I caught her in his play pen with him sitting on his legs and telling "okay baby" while he cried. She loves him a little too much at times.

He's HERE!!!

Slade William Zelaya was born August 11, 2008. He weighed 8 lbs 5 oz and was 20.5 inches long.
We had quite a time getting him here, but we are sure glad he is here. The day started out that the nurses couldn't get an IV in my arm. So after 3 pokes they got it!! Well then it was time for the surgery and the anetheseoligist came to give me my spinal epidural. Well all was going well until I started to feel them cutting and I mean IT HURT, It wasn't just pressure so they tried numbing the incision which didn't work. So I ended up having to be put completely under.

Next problem comes with Slade Dr. B got to him and got him out but Slade wouldn't breath. The nurses had to do Cpr on him for what Brigham said was about 2 minutes. And finally Brigham heard the cries. After all the drama, everything is going fine. And we have such a beautiful healthy boy.

Baby Sprinkle

On the 19Th my Mom and sister in laws threw me a "baby sprinkle." We had such a great turn out it was so much fun to see all our friends and family.

My mom had some fun games planned we played baby jeopardy, name the baby, and a safety pin game where you couldn't cross your legs or arms if you did you lost your pin. At the end of the shower the person with the most pins won a prize.

It was fun to get together and see everyone and laugh HARD at the games. Baby jeopardy we actually have to thank Linda Merrell for she came up with the idea for Sasha's shower and we just took the board and added boy items instead of girls.

Thank you everyone who came also thank you Mom, Evelyn, and Roxanna you did a great job!!

July

We came to my mom and dad's house the other night while they were doing yard work and of course Zoey has to get in on the action. My parents are so good to her, she just adores them!!

My Aunt Jan had a BBQ up to her house while my cousin Nate and his family was out from New York. We had such a good time catching up and letting the kids play.

Update

Wow it has been awhile since I have blogged. We have been extremely busy these last few weeks. We are trying to get our outside ready for the concrete for the patio to be poured. This has been our major project for quite some time, and lately it is starting to actually look like its getting somewhere. All that's left to do is get 1 more load of dirt and a load of gravel, then get the boards up and we are ready for our concrete. I am SO excited to finally have this almost finished and have our back yard fully fenced in with our patio to entertain on. I know Zoey will just LOVE having the back yard finished so she can run and be wild. Who knows maybe i will get to have a least one BBQ this summer. CROSS YOUR FINGERS!!!

On top of all of that Zoey has DEFINITELY hit the terrible twos stage. She has figured out how to push mommy's buttons and make mommy go crazy. I usually have quite a bit of patience but with being pregnant I feel like I am going bonkers with her. But there has been alot of change for her lately and its only about to be more life changing when the baby comes. I think she is going to be pretty good with the fact but its going to be hard on her having to share mom, dad, and especially grandma and grandpa. Speaking of grandpa Zoey just loves her "pumpa" she has this toy phone and she calls her pumpa every day. One other cute little story she knows the way to pumpas house we will be getting close and all of a sudden she says pumpa's? It is so cute then we will get to their house I will say were here at grandma's she corrects me with Pumpas! She is at a pretty fun stage though she is starting to talk so much I love listening to her vocabulary.

Everything is going well with the pregnancy only 4 weeks left WAHOO!!! The c-section is scheduled for the 13th of August and that is week 40. We had to do it that week because it works out better for Brigham's work schedule, that way he gets to spend 7 days with us. So we are hoping that I make it that far, lately I have been alot more crampy than usual but that could have something to do with Zoey's fit throwing. HEHE

Well there is our little update I have some pictures I need to post, so when I get some time those will be coming....

My Dad

I wanted to do a post about my dad being that Sunday was fathers day and all.
Alot of you that read my blog know my dad and know what an amazing man he is.

I had the best childhood growing up, my dad was so good to us. He was always there for everything that us kids were involved in. Whether it was softball, football, baseball, cheerleading anything he was there supporting us 110%. I remember when I decided to do cheerleading I thought my dad was going to flip out because I wasn't going to be doing sports which I always had done my whole life. Well he was there helping decorate, learning a dance for our daddy daughter dances, as well as being my personal bank. haha

My dad loves to be up on the mountain whether its camping, hunting, fishing, etc. So when I was little we were always up on the mountain hanging out. These are some of my fondest memories, just being with our family and having a good time.

Dad you truly are the best dad, you have always supported me through everything. I hope you have a great fathers day and always know that we love you!!

MY HUBBY

Brigham's birthday was on the 5th of this month, which I had planned on doing a post about, but just kinda spaced it. So I am going to combine my fathers day post and Brigham's birthday.

I truly think that I have the best husband in the world!! And no I am not being biast or anything. He is such a great father to Zoey, she has him twirled around her little finger. She is such a daddy's little girl, she loves to just be with him. It doesn't matter what they are doing together you can just tell that she loves to be with her dadda.

Brigham is such a great provider for our family, I am lucky enough that I don't have to work. I worked there for a little bit while we were buying our house, and it was pretty hard to leave Zoey at the babysitters. But we finally came to the decision that we would sacrifice the extra money I brought in and I would just stay home with Zoey. Brigham has taken on 2 jobs before just so we wouldn't have to put Zoey in daycare. He works so hard and I know I don't show him enough the gratitude which he deserves.

Our Scare!!

Yesterday I must have thought I was super woman or something. Let me explain I have this changing table I bought from Kmart that is really cute and convenient but the drawers don't hold much weight, I have broken almost every drawer in the changing table. So my plan was to load the changing table in the back of the truck and take it up to Arn's Wood Shop. Arn has been really good to us, he totally repaired the first shelf that looked like a Lion had chewed it up. So he told me to bring the others up and he would fix them.

Well I started to help Brigham lift this "big huge" (okay i'm exagerating a little)changing table into the back of the truck and didn't really think anything of it. I felt a little pressure "down under" but again didn't think anything of it.

I got to my mom and dad's house to take the truck back, I went to go use the restroom and there was blood. I thought to myself "oh shit what did I do?" I called my sister in law Evelyn who is a nurse in the OB(thank heavens for her!!) and she says to lay down and drink LOTS of water. In the meantime I called Dr. Breitenbach and they asked me to come right down.

I have to say that I just knew that I put myself in labor. I was having contractions randomly and the pain "down under" was unbearable.

I went to the doctors office and had Dr.Breitenbach check me. Luckily I wasn't in labor, I had just pulled some muscles from where my c-section scar is and they think the bleeding was from the pressure on the cervix from lifting.
Needless to say I am SUPER sore today and I also realized that I am NOT super women.

MY LITTLE GIRL IS GROWING UP!!!

Well Zoey has made the transition into the toddler stages. She is starting to talk so much. She has a new word everyday, her latest ones are "Toot", "Cup" ,"Outside", and "Please". She talks so much now and is so very independent. She likes to do things herself and will ask for help if she HAS too.

I was sure that when I had Zoey that since she was such and easy baby that the toddler years were going to be a breeze needless to say I was wrong! She has learned how to throw fits and when I say fit its not the little bit of cry it is throw herself on the floor and bang her head on walls. Oh her new trick when she gets mad is to bite. Well we have introduced time out and she does pretty well with that. I just sit her down on the stairs below our bar stools and explain to her why she is in time out. I think she is getting better with her fit throwing but some of the time I just have to laugh at her. She definitely has the Wilhelm temper. The other day I had turned cartoons on for Zoey while I got ready. Well I was finished getting ready and it was her turn to get ready. So I said to her " Okay sis its time to get ready we have to turn Dora off and go get our clothes on." Oh my goodness you would think that it was the end of the world. She threw the biggest fit all because I turned her cartoon off. Wow is this kid really mine hahah...

TIME OUT!!

Zoey decided the other day that since Mommy was going on the potty that she wanted to try. So she took off her pants and started to take off her diaper and I put her up on the potty. She was so good I told her to go pee pee which she did then I told her to go poop I would tell her to push. The first time just a toot came out and she thought that was pretty cool. So by the end of potty time she had peed and pooped in the big girl potty. She was SO proud of herself her face was just beaming.

This is the best picture we have of her by the potty

Zoey has also decided that she likes her big girl bed. My mom had this toddler bed at her house and she asked if we wanted it for Zoey to get used to sleeping in a bed. Well we brought it home and put sheets on it and pillows, and Zoey decided she wanted to sleep in it. So I laid her down gave her kisses and sang her a song. I came out of her room and stood by the door because I just knew this wasn't going to last. Well there I sat and sat and finally I just peeked in and she was OUT!! I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought to myself is it really going to be this easy to get her to sleep in a big girl bed? Well she has had a couple of relapses I think because she was sick but other than that. I am proud to say she is in her big girl bed.
